Local first

Your data stays with you

Your favorites, lists, tags, settings and layouts are all stored in your own browser's localStorage and IndexedDB, where our servers can't see them. What does reach our servers: YouTube channel IDs and names (kept in a shared channel cache), live-status lookups, search terms, and feedback, reports or survey answers you choose to send — the first three are never tied to you or your device. See Section 2.5 of the policy for the full list.

Transparency

What we collect / don't collect

Drawing the line clearly: apart from feedback, reports and survey answers you choose to send, we only see anonymous aggregate numbers — nothing that points back to you.

What we collect

Anonymous visitor counts (via Google Analytics 4)
Page view events (no personally identifiable information)
Total stream watch time (aggregated, cannot be traced back to any individual)
IDs and names of YouTube channels that get added (kept in a shared channel cache, with no user identifiers)
Feedback, data reports, submissions and survey answers you choose to send (including an optional contact detail)

What we don't collect

Which user favorited which channels (the shared channel cache records only the channels themselves, so it cannot be traced back to you)
Which streams you watched or for how long
The contents of your Twitch / YouTube accounts
Any information that could identify you personally (unless you add contact details to a report or submission yourself)
How it works

Shared channel cache

When you add a YouTube stream or channel to the canvas or your favorites, or when live status is checked, we store that channel's ID and name in a channel cache shared by all users, so channel names and avatars can be shown without querying YouTube again. The cache records only the channel itself — not who or which device, and no IP, account or other identifier — so it cannot be traced back to you. Your own favorites list still stays only in your browser.

Full policy

Full Privacy Policy

MultiStream Hub (hereinafter referred to as "this website") is independently developed and operated by Hsiung-Shao. We take your privacy very seriously. This website does not require an account: your favorites, settings and layouts are stored only in your own browser. Only the limited data listed in Section 2.5 is sent to our servers.

1. Personal Data We Do Not Collect

  • No registration is required, and we do not actively collect email addresses, names, phone numbers or other data that directly identifies you (except contact details you choose to provide in a report or submission, and the technical details listed in Section 2.5)
  • We do not create user accounts or personal profiles on our servers; the servers keep only the data listed in Section 2.5
  • We do not track you across websites or build user profiles (see Section 1.6 for Google Analytics' anonymous segmentation)

1.5. Google Analytics Service

This website uses Google Analytics to analyze website traffic and usage to improve user experience. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymous statistics.

  • We use Google Analytics to understand website usage (such as page views, time on site, etc.)
  • Google Analytics collects anonymized data and does not identify your personal identity
  • We have enabled IP anonymization, and your IP address will be anonymized
  • You can reject cookies through browser settings or use our consent banner to opt out of analytics services

Google Analytics Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

1.6. User Segmentation and Behavior Tracking

To improve user experience, we may track the following anonymous behavioral data:

  • Visit Frequency: How many times you visited in the past 7 days (first-time / occasional / regular / power user)
  • Feature Depth: Which features you used (layout switching, custom layouts, favorites, etc.)
  • Session Length: How long you stayed during this visit (quick / short / medium / long)
  • We send a heartbeat event every 60 seconds to calculate your active time
  • This data is only used for statistical analysis and will not identify your personal identity
  • You can opt out at any time via the Cookie consent banner or disable tracking in settings

2. Data Stored Locally in Your Browser (localStorage and IndexedDB)

We only use localStorage and IndexedDB in your browser to store the following data, all of which can be manually cleared at any time:

  • Favorite channel list (custom name, Twitch/YouTube URL, category)
  • Layout preferences (layout mode, volume settings, chat room display status)
  • Automatic backups of your favorites and custom layouts (stored in the browser IndexedDB)
  • A random device ID created when you take part in an announcement poll or survey (used to prevent duplicate answers)

You can at any time:

  • Click "Manage Favorites → Settings → Clear all data" to delete everything in one click (clears both localStorage and the IndexedDB backups)
  • Or clear the site data for this site in your browser settings (clearing only localStorage will restore it from the IndexedDB backup on your next visit)

2.5. Data Sent to Our Servers

Data is sent to our servers (hosted on Cloudflare and Supabase) in the following cases:

  • When you add a YouTube stream or channel to the canvas or your favorites, or when live status is checked: the channel ID and channel name (both public information) are stored in a channel cache shared by all users, used to show channel names and avatars. We do not record who added it or from which device.
  • When the live status of your favorites is checked: channel IDs are sent to our server or database for the lookup, and the resulting live status is stored in a shared table for other users to reuse, then deleted automatically after 30 days. We do not separately keep a record of which channels you looked up.
  • When you send feedback: what you fill in (feedback type, content, rating, recommendation score, how you found us, when and how long you use the site), plus technical details such as your browser's user agent, screen resolution, window size, theme and site version. No account is recorded. To prevent abuse, the number of submissions per IP address is kept for about an hour and then deleted automatically. The feedback content, its handling status and the date you sent it are shown publicly on the Service Status page (/status) once we have read it; the other fields are not. Before anything is shown, we try to hide emails, links and phone numbers automatically, but automatic hiding cannot catch every way of writing them, so feedback is only published after we have read it and we remove content that should not be public. Please still do not include personal details, and you can email us to have yours taken down. This only applies to feedback sent after the form began showing this notice; earlier feedback is never made public.
  • When you send a data report or submit a new VTuber: what you write, the page you sent it from, and an optional contact detail (never published, used only to reach you during review). To prevent abuse, a salted hash of your IP address is stored (the raw IP is not). The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile; your IP is sent to Cloudflare for the check, and Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.
  • When you take part in an announcement poll or survey: the options you pick and any text you write, plus a random device ID generated in your browser and kept there long-term (used to prevent duplicate answers; it contains no personal information). To prevent abuse, submission counts per IP address and device ID are kept for about 90 seconds.
  • When you search for channels, or look up a channel URL in the submission form: the search term or URL is sent to our server for processing but is not stored.
  • When a server error occurs, error logs may include technical details such as the request IP for debugging; only the administrator can read them, and they are deleted automatically after 90 days. Our hosting providers (Cloudflare and Supabase) also keep ordinary access logs (including IP addresses and URLs) under their own policies. To have feedback, a report or a survey answer you sent deleted, email us with when you sent it and what it said.

3. Third-Party Embedded Content (Twitch & YouTube)

  • When you add a Twitch or YouTube stream, this site only uses the official iframe embedded player
  • Chat rooms also use Twitch / YouTube official embedding features
  • When looking up channel details and live status, your browser connects directly to the YouTube Data API and the Twitch API and sends channel or video IDs; Google's and Twitch's privacy policies apply to these requests as well
  • These embedded contents directly connect to Twitch / YouTube servers, and their respective privacy policies apply:

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

This website itself does not use cookies, but third-party services we use (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) may use cookies.

  • Our own code does not set cookies; however, Cloudflare's security protection (bot detection and Turnstile verification) may set necessary security cookies
  • We use HTML5 localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB (all stored locally in your browser) to save your settings and favorites
  • Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous statistics (only with your consent)
  • Google AdSense uses cookies to provide personalized ads (only with your consent)
  • You can manage or delete these cookies through browser settings, or use our consent banner to opt out
  • Rejecting cookies will not affect the basic functionality of the website, but may prevent the use of certain analytics or advertising features

5. Google AdSense Advertising (Applied / May Display in Future)

We have applied for Google AdSense. If approved, personalized or non-personalized ads will be displayed. Ad display requires your consent.
